4. Severe Neck & Shoulder Pain?

   I woke up yesterday morning with severe neck pain and pain in between my shoulder blades. This is a searing, sharp pain, very different than the usual musle stiffness I get. Massage and a hot shower only aggravated it. I am now on day 2 and I woke up and the pain seems to be radiating down the middle of my back along my spinal cord and up along the middle of my neck into my head. It is based on the left side and at this point I cant turn my head to the side without moving my whole upper body. Lifting my left arm is also quite painful because of the shoulder pain. Does anyone have any idea what this could be ? I do get migraines and neck stiffness but this is something very different than I have ever felt before. I am an otherwise healthy 27 year old female.

9. What will a pain management doctor do next?

   I'm just curious. I went to my pain management doctor and was prescribed Lyrica and Vicodin twice a day. After about a week I had to stop the Lyrica because it is making me so lethargic and feeling like I can't even focus on anything. So I had to take more than two Vicodin a day and I ran out. Do you think they will prescribe more if I call them and explain or do you think they will make me wait till my next monthly visit?

    Hi, I have been on Pain Management succesfully for almost three years, but my pain doctor closed shop. I cannot find any pain doctors in central nj who will prescribe narcotics, and I desperately need them...they are the ONLY thing that works, I have multiple chronic pain conditions.
